About Me

Thanks for visiting! I've been immersed in the tech world for over 18 years.  You might wonder: after all this time, why am I just now launching a website and blog?  The answer is simple — it's never too late to embark on a new venture!

My professional journey began at a data center for a web-hosting company, where I provided managed servers and services.  Initially, I focused on Data Center Operations, but my role soon expanded into Support, where I delved into the intricacies of Linux Systems Administration.

My interest in automation was piqued during my time as a Sys Admin.  This curiosity catalyzed my transition into development, where I honed my coding skills and ventured into the realm of DevOps.  My work has since revolved around distributed systems and the tools and software that empower them.  I also got to contribute to a few open-source projects.

I enjoy and try to stay up to date with the latest technologies.  If I were to encapsulate my passion in a sentence, it would be the joy in working with and collective success of a team.  I love the process of optimizing systems and processes — transitioning something from partial automation to complete automation or reducing a task that once took hours to minutes.  However, while the engineering challenges keep me on my toes, the pinnacle of fulfillment for me is seeing my team succeed, and being in a position where I can both learn from and educate others.  I've worked with various cloud providers throughout my career.  I consider AWS and Kubernetes to be my primary areas of expertise at the moment.

I've been blessed to have worked in a wide array of industries including Finance, Gaming, Retail & E-commerce, and Social Network companies.  Also from startup companies to Enterprise so I got to experience and familiarize myself with the different processes and standards of each.  In my experience, I got to understand some of the fundamentals needed in order to run a well-oiled, scalable infrastructure.  As well as what's needed in teams and processes that make an organization successful.   

Currently, I work at Sage AI building scalable infrastructure for our Data Scientists and Machine Learning Practitioners.

I live in California Bay Area with my wife and 3 young kids, and dog.  With this full household, during my free time when I'm not working, I just like to hang out and make sure I'm spending quality time with my family.

I am a Christian and give all Praise and Glory to God for all my Blessings.  How I view work can be explained in the following scripture:  Colossians 3:23

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."
